Are You the Person Who Keeps Everything Moving?
Do you like being on the go -- not stuck behind a desk? Are you the kind of person who takes pride in making sure everyone has what they need, when they need it? Do you want a physical, hands-on job where you can see the direct impact of your work every single day?
At Nelson Exteriors, our crews can only do great work if the right materials show up at the right job site at the right time. That's your job. When you do it well, projects stay on schedule, crews stay productive, and homeowners get the renovation they were promised. When a Job Runner drops the ball, everything stops. This role isn't glamorous -- but it is essential, and everyone in this company knows it.
If you want a job where you're moving, problem-solving, and making things happen from the moment you clock in until the moment you leave -- not sitting in a cubicle watching a clock -- this is it.
For over 48 years, Nelson Exteriors has been a trusted family-owned exterior remodeling business in Atlanta, Georgia. We've helped over 10,000 homeowners fall in love with their homes again, specializing in siding, roofing, windows, doors, decks, painting, gutters, and outdoor living spaces. Our reputation speaks for itself: we maintain an average 4.8-star rating across Google, Facebook, and Nextdoor because we stand by our promise: "Love the way your home looks."
At Nelson Exteriors, WE CARE:
Communication: We listen with intent.
Authenticity: We do what's right, not just what's easy.
Reliability: We build lasting relationships.
Execution: We deliver high-quality results.
If you share these values and want to be part of a fast-growing and award-winning team, this is your opportunity.

As a Job Runner, you are the logistics backbone of our field operations. You'll spend your days driving between job sites, our warehouse, and supply locations -- delivering materials, managing dumpsters, maintaining our fleet, and making sure our yard and warehouse are organized and stocked. You work independently, manage your own route, and take ownership of making sure nothing slows our crews down.
This is an entry-level position, but don't confuse entry-level with unimportant. Our project managers and crews depend on you. The person in this role has a direct line to every active job site in the company. For the right person, it's also a front-row seat to how a professional remodeling operation runs -- and a launching pad into project management or other career paths at Nelson Exteriors.
What You'll Do Every Day:
Drop off tow-behind dumpsters to job sites as needed and pick up full dumpsters for disposal at local landfills (our dumpsters are hydraulic -- not done by hand)
Pick up and deliver materials to active job sites based on daily project needs
Coordinate with project managers on delivery timing and priorities
Maintain and care for the company's fleet of vehicles and dumpster trailers -- keep them clean, report mechanical issues, and ensure they're road-ready
Track inventory of materials stored at the company yard and warehouse
Keep the company yard and warehouse organized, clean, and well-maintained
Communicate with the office and field teams throughout the day to adapt to changing priorities
Occasionally pick up materials from suppliers when job-specific needs arise
What We're Looking For:
A valid Georgia driver's license with an EXCELLENT driving record -- this is non-negotiable
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
A self-starter who can manage their own day without someone looking over their shoulder
Strong ability to follow directions and communicate clearly
Comfortable driving trucks and towing trailers (experience preferred but we can train)
Some experience in construction or with construction materials is a plus, but not required
Physically capable -- this job involves loading, unloading, and being on your feet throughout the day
Reliable -- you show up on time, every day, ready to work
Takes pride in keeping things organized and well-maintained
What You Don't Need:
A college degree
Years of construction experience
CDL (our vehicles don't require one)
Compensation and Benefits:
Full Time Position -- Based out of Marietta, GA (on the road daily)
Overtime available during peak seasons -- annual earnings potential of $50,000 - $60,000+
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
No required weekends
Year-round employment including winter
Health, dental, and vision insurance
Retirement plan with company match (available after one year)
Company truck and gas card -- you're not putting miles on your own vehicle
A job where no two days are exactly the same
We will train you on our procedures, routes, and systems to set you up for success
Why This Job Is Worth Your Attention:
You're not disposable. Our PMs and crews rely on you by name. You're part of the operation, not a temp.
You're not stuck. This role gives you exposure to every part of the business -- materials, logistics, job sites, crews, project management. People who pay attention in this role learn fast and move up.
You're not forgotten. Nelson started as a family business and we still operate like one. You'll be treated with respect and your work will be noticed.
Company truck and gas card. You drive our truck, we pay for the gas. Your personal vehicle stays in your driveway.
