Are You the Person Who Notices When the Numbers Are Off by a Dollar -- and Can't Sleep Until It's Fixed?

Some people see a spreadsheet and their eyes glaze over. You see a spreadsheet and you immediately start scanning for the row that doesn't add up. You're the person who reconciles their own bank account for fun, who double-checks the restaurant bill before anyone else thinks to, and who would never let a vendor invoice slip through unpaid or an employee paycheck come out wrong.

At Nelson Exteriors, our Account Manager is the person who keeps the financial engine running cleanly and accurately behind the scenes. Our crews are out renovating homes. Our sales team is closing deals. Our project managers are juggling timelines and budgets. And you're the one making sure every dollar is tracked, every paycheck is right, every vendor is paid on time, and every job is costed accurately. Without you, the wheels come off.

If you want a role where precision matters, trust is everything, and your work directly supports a growing company -- this is it.

For over 48 years, Nelson Exteriors has been a trusted family-owned exterior remodeling business in Atlanta, Georgia. We've helped over 10,000 homeowners fall in love with their homes again, specializing in siding, roofing, windows, doors, decks, painting, gutters, and outdoor living spaces. Our reputation speaks for itself: we maintain an average 4.8-star rating across Google, Facebook, and Nextdoor because we stand by our promise: "Love the way your home looks."

At Nelson Exteriors, WE CARE:

    Communication: We listen with intent.

Authenticity: We do what's right, not just what's easy.

    Reliability: We build lasting relationships.

    Execution: We deliver high-quality results.

If you share these values and want to be part of a fast-growing and award-winning team, this is your opportunity.

As an Account Manager (AP/Payroll Specialist), you will manage the day-to-day financial operations of a growing residential remodeling company. You'll own payroll processing, accounts payable, job costing, and financial reporting -- working closely with project managers, the operations team, and our third-party accounting firm to keep everything accurate, compliant, and on time.

This is an in-office role that requires someone who is meticulous, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently while collaborating across departments. You're not just entering numbers -- you're protecting the financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Process payroll accurately and on schedule -- track employee hours, wages, overtime, deductions, bonuses, and garnishments

Manage accounts payable: acquire, verify, and process invoices to ensure vendors and subcontractors are paid correctly and on time

Track job-related costs for each project and ensure financial accuracy across all active jobs

Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in coordination with our third-party accounting firm

Ensure all payroll, benefits distribution, and garnishments comply with federal and state regulations

Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for leadership review

Facilitate insurance audits and provide required financial documentation

Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and payment inquiries from vendors promptly and professionally

Work closely with project managers to verify job costs, material expenses, and labor charges

Maintain organized, up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks

Support the operations team by streamlining financial processes and identifying areas for improvement

What We're Looking For:

5 or more years of experience in accounts payable, payroll processing, or a combined AP/Payroll role

Proficient in QuickBooks -- this is your primary tool and you need to know it well

Highly proficient in Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Drive)

Strong understanding of payroll regulations, benefits administration, garnishments, and compliance requirements

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail -- you catch errors that others miss

    Strong mathematical and analytical skills

Trustworthy and discreet -- you'll have access to sensitive financial and employee information

Excellent verbal and written communication skills -- you can explain a payroll discrepancy to an employee as clearly as you can present a financial report to leadership

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project managers, operations, and our outside accounting firm

Experience with job costing in a construction or project-based business is a strong plus

High integrity -- there are no shortcuts in this role

What You Don't Need:

A CPA or accounting degree (though an Associate's or Bachelor's in accounting, business, or a related field is a plus)

Construction industry experience (helpful but we'll teach you our process)

Experience with our specific systems beyond QuickBooks (we'll train you on JobNimbus and our internal procedures)

Compensation and Benefits:

Full Time Position -- In-Office, Marietta, GA

Competitive salary up to $70,000 per year (based on experience)

    Health, dental, and vision insurance

Paid time off and paid vacations

401K with company match (up to 3.5% after one year)

    Employee discounts

    Weekends off

We will train you on our procedures, scheduling tools, and policies to set you up for success

Why This Role Matters:

You're not a cog in a corporate accounting department. You're the person. The one person who owns payroll and AP for the entire company. Your accuracy and diligence directly affect every employee's paycheck and every vendor relationship we have.

You work with people, not just spreadsheets. Project managers will come to you with job cost questions. Employees will come to you with payroll questions. Leadership will rely on your reports to make decisions. You're connected to every part of the business.

You're part of a team that respects what you do. In a lot of companies, the accounting person is invisible until something goes wrong. Here, we know that when payroll is right, when vendors are paid on time, and when job costs are tracked accurately -- that's because someone is doing excellent, careful work behind the scenes. We see it and we value it.

Weekends off. Stable hours. No surprises. This is a structured, predictable role in a company that's been in business for 48 years. You can plan your life around your work, not the other way around.
